  • We do not create user accounts or require registration.

1.3 Payment Information

When you purchase the AI-Personalized Analysis ($4.99), all payment information (credit card, billing address, etc.) is collected and processed exclusively by Polar, our Merchant of Record. K-contents never receives, stores, or has access to your payment card details.

1.4 Automatically Collected Information

  • Google Analytics collects anonymous usage data (page views, session duration, device type, approximate location) via cookies set by Google. This data is aggregated and does not personally identify you.
  • Google AdSense may set cookies to serve relevant advertisements. Ad personalization is managed by Google.
  • Cloudflare (our hosting provider) may collect IP addresses and basic request data for security and performance purposes.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • AI Recommendation Generation: Your quiz answers, title/actor/genre/mood inputs are sent to our server and forwarded to OpenAI's API to generate your personalized taste profile and content recommendations.
  • K-Taste Cup: Your country selection is used to display country-specific food analogies. Your tournament picks are processed locally in your browser.
  • Payment Verification: Your checkout ID (a transaction reference, not payment details) is used to verify successful payment with Polar before generating premium results.
  • Service Improvement: Aggregated, anonymous analytics data helps us understand usage patterns.

3. Data Retention

  • Quiz and game data: Exists only during your active browser session. It is sent to our API server to generate results, processed in real-time, and not stored on our servers after the response is returned.
  • Checkout IDs: Temporarily stored in your browser's sessionStorage during the payment flow and automatically cleared once your report is displayed.
  • Payment records: Maintained by Polar as the Merchant of Record in accordance with their data retention policies and applicable tax/legal requirements.

  • Our API runs on Cloudflare Workers with built-in DDoS protection.
  • API keys and payment tokens are stored as Cloudflare Worker Secrets, never exposed to the client.
  • Payment checkout verification uses server-side validation — the client cannot bypass payment.

8. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside your jurisdiction:

  • OpenAI — Servers located in the United States. Quiz answers and content preferences are sent to OpenAI for AI processing. OpenAI processes data under their data processing terms. Data sent to the API is not used to train models.
  • Polar — Payment data is processed by Polar in accordance with applicable data protection regulations.
  • Cloudflare — Infrastructure services may route requests through global data centers.

For EU/EEA users: These transfers are based on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or adequacy decisions where available, as maintained by each third-party provider. By using K-contents, you acknowledge these transfers as described.

K-contents is not directed at children under 13 (or 16 in certain EU jurisdictions, or the applicable minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. It generates entertainment recommendations only. You are not subject to decisions based solely on automated processing that produce legal effects concerning you.

1. Service Description

K-contents is an AI-powered Korean content discovery platform that provides:

  • Quick Balance Game (Free) — 8 "Would you rather" questions generating a taste profile with 3 movie and 3 series recommendations.
  • AI-Personalized Analysis ($4.99 USD per play) — Custom AI-generated quiz based on your viewing history, detailed 6-axis taste profiling, personalized recommendations with match percentages, tune controls, and premium export tools (email report, summary/full report images).
  • K-Taste Cup (Free) — Korean food tournament with 24 dishes in bracket-style matchups, producing one of 12 food personality types.
  • K-Contents News (Free) — Curated Korean entertainment headlines.

2. Merchant of Record & Payment Processing

All paid transactions on K-contents are processed by Polar (polar.sh), which acts as the Merchant of Record (MoR). This means:

  • Polar is the legal seller of the digital service for payment and tax purposes.
  • Polar handles all payment processing, tax calculation, invoicing, and compliance with local tax regulations.
  • Your payment information is collected and processed exclusively by Polar. K-contents never receives or stores your payment card details.
  • By making a purchase, you also agree to Polar's Terms of Service.

3. Pricing & Payment

  • The AI-Personalized Analysis is a one-time purchase of $4.99 USD per play. There are no subscriptions, recurring charges, or hidden fees.
  • Applicable taxes (VAT, sales tax, etc.) are calculated and collected by Polar based on your location.
  • Payment is required before the AI-Personalized Analysis begins. The payment is verified server-side before generating results.
  • The Quick Balance Game, K-Taste Cup, and K-Contents News are free and require no payment.

4. Digital Product & Delivery

  • The AI-Personalized Analysis is a digital service delivered immediately after payment verification.
  • Delivery consists of: (a) AI-generated custom quiz questions, (b) a 6-axis taste profile analysis, (c) 3 movie + 3 series personalized recommendations with detailed match reasoning, (d) one-time taste tuning capability, and (e) premium export tools.
  • Delivery is fully automated. Results are generated in real-time (typically within 30 seconds) and displayed in your browser.
  • Each purchase generates one set of results. Results are not stored on our servers and exist only in your current browser session. You are responsible for saving your results (via the provided email, image download, or share features) before closing the page.

4A. Right of Withdrawal & Digital Content Waiver (EU/EEA)

Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU) and the EU Directive on Digital Content (2019/770), EU/EEA consumers have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases. However, because the AI-Personalized Analysis is digital content that is not supplied on a tangible medium and performance begins immediately upon purchase:

  • By completing your purchase, you expressly consent to the immediate performance of the digital service.

6. AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

  • All recommendations, taste profiles, blurbs, editorial notes, and match percentages are generated by artificial intelligence (OpenAI GPT-4.1-mini).
  • AI-generated content is provided for entertainment and discovery purposes. It should not be considered definitive assessments of content quality.
  • Results may vary between sessions even with identical inputs, as AI generation is inherently non-deterministic.
  • Match percentages are algorithmically constrained (maximum 86%–96% depending on input volume) and represent estimated compatibility, not guaranteed satisfaction.
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy of titles, release years, Netflix availability, or any factual claims in AI-generated content.
  • Content recommendations are limited to Korean productions (Korean movies and series only).

7. Acceptable Use

You agree to:

  • Use K-contents for personal, non-commercial entertainment purposes only.
  • Not use automated bots, scrapers, or scripts to access the Service.
  • Not attempt to bypass payment verification or access paid features without valid payment.
  • Not resell, redistribute, or commercially exploit AI-generated results.
  • Not attempt to reverse-engineer our recommendation algorithms or AI prompts.
  • Not submit harmful, offensive, or illegal content as input.

8. Intellectual Property

  • The K-contents brand, website design, quiz questions, and recommendation algorithms are the property of K-contents.
  • AI-generated results (taste profiles, recommendations, blurbs) are provided to you for personal use. You may share them via the provided share features.
  • Movie and series titles, images, and descriptions referenced in recommendations belong to their respective rights holders.

9. Service Availability

  • K-contents is provided "as is" without warranties of uninterrupted availability.
  • We depend on third-party services (OpenAI, Polar, Cloudflare). Outages of these services may temporarily affect K-contents functionality.
  • We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, K-contents and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim related to the paid service shall not exceed the amount you paid ($4.99).

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. For payment-related disputes, Polar's dispute resolution process applies as the Merchant of Record.

  • EU/EEA consumers: You retain all mandatory consumer rights under the laws of your country of residence. Nothing in these Terms affects your right to rely on mandatory local consumer protection provisions. You may also use the EU Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform for alternative dispute resolution.

13. Severability

Refund Policy

This Refund Policy applies to the paid AI-Personalized Analysis ($4.99 USD) on K-contents. Free features (Quick Balance Game, K-Taste Cup, K-Contents News) do not involve payment and are not subject to this policy.

EU/EEA Consumer Rights Notice

Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (2011/83/EU, Art. 16(m)), you normally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for online purchases. However, for digital content not supplied on a tangible medium, this right is lost once performance begins with your express consent. By completing the purchase and consenting to immediate delivery, you waive the 14-day withdrawal right for successfully delivered reports. This waiver does NOT apply if the service fails to deliver your report — in that case, you are entitled to a full refund.

Under the EU Directive on Digital Content (2019/770), if the digital content is not in conformity with the contract (e.g., significantly defective results, wrong language, incomplete data), you have the right to request that the content be brought into conformity, or to receive an appropriate price reduction or full refund.

Service Unavailability

If our AI service (OpenAI API) is down or unresponsive at the time of your request, the automatic refund process is triggered.

When an automatic refund is triggered, you will see a notification on screen confirming the refund. The refund is processed by Polar and typically appears on your statement within 5–10 business days, depending on your bank or payment provider.

2. Automatic Email Delivery

Upon successful generation of your AI-Personalized report, a copy is automatically emailed to the email address you provided during checkout. This email serves as:

  • A permanent copy of your personalized report
  • Proof of digital content delivery

Once the report email has been delivered, the digital service is considered fully performed. Under the EU Consumer Rights Directive (Art. 16(m)), the right of withdrawal no longer applies after delivery of digital content with your prior express consent.

3. How Automatic Refunds Work (Technical Process)

  1. You complete payment via Polar's embedded checkout.
  2. Our server verifies the payment with Polar's API (checkout status = "succeeded" and product ID match).
  3. The AI generates your personalized report.
  4. If step 3 fails, the system retries once.
  5. If the retry also fails, our server calls Polar's Refund API with reason "service_disruption."
  6. Polar processes the full refund to your original payment method.

This entire process is automated. You do not need to contact us or fill out a form.

6. Refund Processing

  • All refunds are processed by Polar (our Merchant of Record) to your original payment method.

7. Duplicate Refund Prevention

Our system prevents duplicate refunds. If a refund has already been issued for your transaction, additional refund requests for the same transaction will be recognized and no duplicate charge will occur.
